I first came to the mat to see what all the fuss was about.
Stretchy pants were taking the world by storm and I wanted in on the action. There was only one (or a few) problems: I was inflexible, out-of-touch with my body, and suspicious of the yogic practices, with its chanting, incense, and meditation.
Within a few years, yoga transformed me from the inside out. It aligned my mind and body (not without a few temper tantrums). It taught to breathe and stay through difficult times. It cured me of several physical and psychological hang-ups. And it gave my soul an outlet to dance.
Jessica completed her 200-hour teacher training at Flow Yoga Center. With a background in psychology, neuroscience, spirituality, and entrepreneurship, she finds flow in the balance of contrasts. Jessica infuses her classes with powerful opposition: strength and ease, left-brained logic and right-brained creativity, focus and play, power and flow. She currently teaches in Washington D.C.
